Lavender

Terms of use

Last updated: 27 September 2026

1. Who we are

Lavender Browser ("Lavender", "the app") is made by Ariamax, Rijswijk, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 42005482 ("we", "us"). By installing or using Lavender you agree to these terms.

2. Using Lavender

Lavender is a web browser for Android. You may install it from Google Play and use it on your own devices for personal use. It is free: every feature is available to everyone, without ads or subscriptions.

3. Donations

You can support Lavender with an optional one-time or monthly donation in the app. A donation is a voluntary gift to support Lavender's development: it does not buy any feature, service level or right, and it is not a gift to a charity. Donations are paid through Google Play, whose terms and refund rules apply. A monthly donation is charged every month until you cancel it in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions); cancelling stops the next payment.

4. What the wellbeing features can and cannot do

Lavender helps you pause sites, limit your time on them and keep whole categories of sites out. Please keep in mind:

5. Websites and other services

The websites you visit with Lavender, the search engine you choose and the Google services the app can use (Safe Browsing, on-device translation and Google Play) are provided by others under their own terms. We are not responsible for their content, availability or accuracy, including translations and dangerous-site warnings.

6. What you may not do

7. Intellectual property

Lavender — its code, design, name and logo — and the content of this website belong to Ariamax and are protected by copyright and trademark law. The category lists are used under the licences of their authors (CC BY-SA for the UT1 lists). You may link to this website and share screenshots of the app.

8. Liability

Lavender is provided as it is. We work to keep it reliable, but we do not promise that it is free of errors or that it will block every site you want kept out. To the extent the law allows, Ariamax is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of data kept in the app (such as notes, bookmarks or rules), or for the content of websites and third-party services. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited under Dutch law. Consumers keep the rights mandatory law gives them.

9. Privacy

How Lavender handles data — what stays on your phone and when the app connects to the internet — is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when Lavender gets new features. The date at the top shows the current version; continuing to use Lavender after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes go to the competent court in The Hague, the Netherlands, unless mandatory law gives you the right to another court.
